Information About Vaccines & Vaccine Schedules For Children in Chatham, NJ
At Touchpoint Pediatrics, we firmly believe in the importance of childhood immunizations. Vaccines have a proven track record of safety and effectiveness, as well as responsibility for the decreased rates and/or elimination of many dangerous childhood illnesses. This list includes whooping cough, meningitis, and bacterial bloodstream infections, among many others.
Importance of Childhood Vaccines Explained
Years of research and countless studies have upheld the safety of the routine childhood vaccination schedule, specifically concluding that there is no link between vaccines and autism. At Touchpoint Pediatrics, we—along with the majority of pediatricians—believe that the risk of not vaccinating a child greatly outweighs any minor side effects that may occur from vaccines. For this reason, we recommend vaccinating according to the advised American Academy of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control schedule (see below). Nevertheless, we understand that some parents may be more comfortable with vaccinating according to a slower schedule. If this is your preference, we will be happy to work with you for the benefit of your child.
Recommended Vaccine Schedule
The following are the recommended vaccine schedules from the Center for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices:
