As an example of Touchpoint Pediatrics’ commitment to using the latest technology for the benefit of our patients, our practice is one of the only pediatrics practices in the area to offer the QbCheck ADHD System.

The QbCheck System is an interactive tool which can be very helpful in objectively measuring the degree of a child’s inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. Briefly, the child sits at the machine for approximately 15 minutes and is asked to perform a variety of tasks, while the machine continuously monitors how fidgety and distractable the child is.

The system is not used instead of the traditional diagnostic process for ADHD, nor is it meant to. A detailed history by a skilled clinician, combined with ADHD rating scales, is always the best way to make a diagnosis of ADHD. However, in many cases, the System can be very helpful for confirming or ruling out a diagnosis of ADHD, and it can sometimes be helpful for objectively monitoring how children with ADHD are doing on, or off, their medications. The QbCheck System is backed by years of research supporting its effectiveness.
