Jennifer Shaw, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Shaw has practiced pediatrics in Central New Jersey since 1995. The administrator and owner of our practice, both Dr. Shaw and Touchpoint Pediatrics have been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home. Before founding Touchpoint Pediatrics, Dr. Shaw accomplished the following:

  • Earned her M.D. from the University of Connecticut
  • Completed her general pediatric residency and specialty fellowship at Schneider Children’s Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where she also received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarly Performance
  • Became one of the first board-certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians in the country, as well as earned board certification in general pediatrics
  • Served as medical director for Hunterdon County Child Development and Evaluation Center

Using her sub-specialty training, Dr. Shaw helps families and children cope with:

Dr. Shaw is also on the teaching staff at Atlantic Health Systems (Morristown Memorial/Overlook Medical Centers) and St. Barnabas Medical Center. She resides in Chatham with her husband and three children.

Emily Chen, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Chen practiced for five years in New Jersey prior to joining Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2022. Dr. Chen received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. She then worked at Greengard Lab at Rockefeller University studying molecular and cellular signaling of antidepressant pathways before attending medical school at St. George’s University.

Dr. Chen completed her pediatric residency at Albany Medical Center where she received the prestigious Otto Faust award for excellence in teaching and patient care. She’s been recognized by the NCQA as the highest-level Patient-Center Medical Home, as well as New Jersey Family’s Favorite Kids’ Doc.

She grew up in Westfield where she presently resides with her husband and her two daughters.

Valerie Tom, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Tom practiced pediatrics in Alexandria, Virginia for four years before joining Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2005. She grew up in Livingston, NJ, and now resides in Short Hills with her family. Her career and education highlights include:

  • Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University School of Medicine
  • Pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian Hospital
  • Graduate of UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School with cum laude honors in English and Biology
  • Recognized by the NCQA as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home
  • Highlighted in New Jersey Family’s Favorite Kids’ Doc list of recipients

Sharon Spiteri, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Sharon Spiteri joined Touchpoint pediatrics in 2022. She has been practicing pediatrics for over twenty years. She is a board-certified pediatrician who has invaluable first-hand experience ranging from prematurity and early development to nutrition and overall child health.

After graduating from Barnard College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, she continued her studies at Columbia University where she obtained her Masters of Public Health degree. She went on to earn her Medical Degree from St. George’s University and subsequently completed her residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/St Joseph’s Children’s hospital of New Jersey.

She has been recognized as New Jersey Family’s Favorite Kids Docs and by the NCQA as the highest-level Patient-Center Medical Home.

Dr. Spiteri grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey and now resides in Livingston with her husband and twin children.

Dyana Picache, D.O., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Picache joined Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2023. She received her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York and then completed her residency in Pediatrics at NYU Langone Long Island. During residency she received awards for Excellence in Pediatric care as well as Resident of the Year. She also conducted clinical research about RSV and presented the manuscript at national conferences. Dr. Picache earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lafayette College.

She is passionate about providing comprehensive care to children of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients and their families and takes the time to listen to concerns and answer questions.

Dr. Picache is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest developments in pediatric medicine. She has been recognized by the NCQA as the highest-level Patient-Center Medical Home. She grew up in New Jersey and when she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors with her two dogs, Kenny and Lucy.
