JENNIFER SHAW, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Jennifer Shaw, M.D., F.A.A.P., has been practicing pediatrics in Central New Jersey since 1995. She is the administrator and owner of Touchpoint Pediatrics, P.A. located in Chatham, New Jersey. All the doctors and staff at Touchpoint are dedicated to providing comprehensive family centered pediatric and adolescent medicine. Both Touchpoint Pediatrics and Dr. Shaw have been nationally recognized by the NCQA as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home. Before creating Touchpoint Pediatrics, Dr. Shaw was the Medical Director of the Hunterdon County Child Development and Evaluation Center in Flemington, New Jersey. Dr. Shaw completed her general pediatric residency and specialty fellowship at Schneider Children’s Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, where she received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarly Performance. She received her M.D. from the University of Connecticut. She graduated from Union College in Schenectady with honors in English and Biology. She is one of the first board certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians in the country as well as being board certified in general pediatrics. She is on the teaching attending staff at Atlantic Health Systems (Morristown Memorial/Overlook Medical Centers) and St. Barnabas Medical Center.
Dr. Shaw utilizes her subspecialty training to help families coping with typical behaviors such as temper tantrums, separation anxiety, sibling rivalry, feeding struggles and motivational problems. She has extensive experience diagnosing and coordinating the treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism and learning problems. The New Jersey Community Board of Mental Health requested she join the subcommittee focused on early intervention and mandated to improve children’s mental health. She has been a selected national advisor “Thought Leader” for McNeil Pediatrics, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Abbott Nutritionals and Shire. A featured guest lecturer at parent, teacher and medical meetings throughout New Jersey, she is listed in Consumer Network’s Guide to “America’s Top Pediatricians” 2002 to present, Castle Connelly’s “How to Find the Best Doctors: New York Metro Area”, New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s “Top Docs” in New Jersey, Recognized in “Best Doctors in America 2011 to present”, “NJTopDocs.Com” 2011 to present, Millburn-Short Hills / Nationally Recognized “Super Doctor” 2013 to present and Family Magazine’s “NJ Favorite Kids Doc” 2009 to present.
Dr. Shaw and her husband, Barrie Brachfeld have 3 children and reside in Chatham, NJ.
MARGOT KERRIGAN, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Margot Kerrigan, MD, F.A.A.P. joined Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2010.
Dr. Kerrigan completed her pediatric specialty training at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine/St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ. She attended St. George’s University School of Medicine after completing graduate studies and research in Biochemistry at Columbia University.
Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology and English from Wellesley College. Both Touchpoint Pediatrics and Dr. Kerrigan have been nationally recognized by the NCQA as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home. Dr. Kerrigan is also recognized as Family Magazine’s “NJ Favorite Kids Doc”.
Dr. Kerrigan grew up in Cranford and Westfield, NJ. Presently, she lives with her husband and 4 children in Basking Ridge, NJ.
STUART SLAVIN, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Stuart Slavin, M.D., F.A.A.P., practiced pediatrics in Wyckoff, NJ for 12 years before joining Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2011. He completed his pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 1999, and graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996. At Albert Einstein, he was one of two students in his class selected to receive the 1992 Alumni Merit Scholar Award.
His undergraduate degree is from Rutgers College in 1992, where he was selected as one of fifteen Presidential Merit Scholars from the state of New Jersey.
While he was affiliated with The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, from 1999-2011, Dr. Slavin received a commendation from the Medical Staff President for patient satisfaction. Both Touchpoint Pediatrics and Dr. Slavin have been nationally recognized by the NCQA as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home. Dr. Slavin is also recognized as Family Magazine’s “NJ Favorite Kids Doc”.
Dr. Slavin grew up in Rockaway, NJ, and he currently resides in Whippany and has two sons. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, skiing, and biking, and above all else, spending time with his boys.
VALERIE TOM, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Valerie Tom, M.D., F.A.A.P., was practicing pediatrics in Alexandria, Virginia for 4 years prior to returning to New Jersey in 2005, when she joined Touchpoint Pediatrics. She was an Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
A graduate of UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Tom graduated from Wellesley College cum laude with a degree in English and Biology. Both Touchpoint Pediatrics and Dr. Tom have been nationally recognized by the NCQA as the highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home. Dr. Tom is also recognized as Family Magazine’s “NJ Favorite Kids Doc”.
Having grown up in Livingston, Dr. Tom and her family now live in Short Hills, N.J.
LAUREN NAVALLO, MD, F.A.A.P.
Lauren Joyce Navallo, M.D., F.A.A.P. joined Touchpoint Pediatrics in 2020.
Dr. Navallo completed her pediatric residency training at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she was the recipient of several awards for clinical excellence. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Hackensack Meridian Health/Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she received the Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Navallo’s academic work has been published in several medical journals, including Academic Pediatrics, Clinical Pediatrics, and Ethics & Medicine.
Dr. Navallo attended Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude from Rutgers University, with degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics.
Dr. Navallo grew up in New York City, and she currently resides with her family and fur-baby.
